Interactive Learning:
Teacher Roles and Learner Responsibilities

May 29 - June 7, 1996

This is a workshop to explore the use and effectiveness of interactive learning techniques in the EFL classroom. The session will be specifically planned as an in-service training program to develop teacher skills in the use of cooperative learning tasks and other communicative activities. Presentations and discussions will introduce participants to concepts and materials for interactive learning as well as to multimedia instruction. An attempt will be made to determine effective teacher roles and student responsibilities for both the communicative language classroom and computer-assisted learning. Participants will explore the use of a multimedia interactive lab and interactive materials for Business English as well as General English at the interactive level. The faculty includes Mary Ann Christison, Adrian Palmer and Kitty Johnson.
