Titled "Writing Black," this site is a solid resource of African American writings and writers. Includes writings, speeches, and biographies of African Americans. Also provides links to other libraries and indexes in related fields.

Less academic than other African-American Studies sites, but is interesting in that it is less concerned with academic correctness than with appeal to a general, mainstream black audience. It includes weekly polls on hot issues (should we bomb Iraq, etc.), an interactive historical museum, an art gallery, community discussions on current topics, and a weekly newsletter. A well maintained site, but note that it serves as a cultural resource, not a literary one.
