The Institute for Historical Justice and Reconciliation (IHJR) works with educational and public policy institutions to organize and sponsor historical discourses in pursuit of accountability, acknowledgement, and the resolution of historical disputes. The Institute for Historical Justice and Reconciliation (IHJR) is a project of the Salzburg Global Seminar.
The IHJR is directed by Professor Elazar Barkan of Columbia University and Dr. Timothy Ryback. The Advisory Committee is chaired by Justice Richard J. Goldstone of South Africa
The IHJR functions as an independent project within the context of the Salzburg Global Seminar, which houses its administrative offices and oversees its financial operations. The IHJR works in partnership with a number of nonprofit and educational institutions around the world
